Fostering community health through urban tree planting and advocacy in greater Fort Wayne.

Fort Wayne's tree canopy
is on the decline,
and we're on
a mission
to fix that.
As one of the fastest growing metro areas in the region, Fort Wayne has experienced substantial growth and investment in recent years. While this development creates economic expansion and opportunity, it can also come at the expense of green infrastructure. Combined with occasional disease infestations (most recently the Emerald Ash Borer), Fort Wayne has experienced substantial losses to its tree canopy over the past 15 years.

We can reverse that trend through advocacy, education, planting events, and tree giveaways. Now is the time to invest in Fort Wayne's tree canopy.
Launched in 2022, the Tree Canopy Growth Fund fosters community health and well being by growing the urban forest through tree planting and advocacy.
We partner with schools, neighborhoods, churches, and businesses to give away and plant trees, while educating the community about the many health benefits trees provide.

Why Trees?
A healthy, well-maintained urban forest can have many positive effects on the physical, emotional, mental, and social well-being of individuals and communities.
Research now provides scientific basis to support what many of us already felt, that life is better with more trees and nature within our community.

Maintaining our urban tree canopy supports a healthier, happier community with improved quality of life for all.
