Historic Northeast Tree Giveaway | Round 2

In partnership with the City of Fort Wayne's Community Development Division, we gave out another 250 native trees to residents of the Northside, North Anthony, and Forest Park Boulevard Neighborhoods. There was a lot of excitement about and once again all 250 trees were accounted for within the first hour of the giveaway. We even had some help unloading trees from some early arrivers.

For this second giveaway (the first 250 trees were given away last fall), the species options included cucumber magnolia, serviceberry, redbud, and eastern red cedar.

This special program was made possible because of the Historic Northeast 2035 Plan and the desire from residents in that area to actively regrow the urban canopy cover. Thanks to everyone who helped with this giveaway and to those who opted to plant and care for a new tree!
